Concert Merchandise

Challenge

The challenge was not necessarily creating a new line of merchandise for the tour, but expanding on what the artist had. The artist deisgned her merchandise to match her “Worst Night of Your Life” by naming her merchandise as “Worst Merch Ever”. Keeping this in mind, I wanted to touch on the genre of music the artist makes and fit the album's theme.

Research

When starting this process, looking into what other merchandise the artist had for her tour was important. The artist had the usual tour shirts, stickers, and keychains, all designed by the artist herself.

The name of the album and tour, being Abysmal, Abysmal meaning very deep and extremely ba, was good information and context to finally decide on the style and darker tones.

Process

The artist’s R&B, indie, and alternative sound, along with the title of the album, was a big influence on the direction I wanted to take with the project.

The already existing palette determined one of the two color palettes, as well as how different my design would be in comparison to her original design. Then, looking at the common merchandise just to keep things simple.
